The Lone Star Region of the National Model Railroad Association, Inc. is recognized by the IRS and the State of Texas as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation whose purpose is to educate the public about trains, model railroading, and the NMRA. As a result, the State of Texas as exempted the organization from Franchise and Sales and Use Tax.
